LYNX8017  is a simple LNX archiver for the 8000 series machine - may work on 4000 but untested on it . 
It creates LNX archives that are compatible with 
LYNX17 , ARKIVE 2 on the C64 
STAR COMMANDER on the PC 
in the bundle there is 
the PETSPEED'd version ( .gt)
the original BASIC version (.bas) 
and a seq listing  (.lst)
It rewrites desired files into a new archive , from source device / drive to target drive/device  so equal amounts of room  ( or more ) are required on target disk .
No great claims are made to speed etc but it gets the job done .
