BSW's driver was notoriously difficult to use, especially in menu bars. BSW's driver used @absolute addressing. (i.e.: placing a finger on the upper-left corner of the pad moved the mouse cursor to the upper-left corner of the screen) It therefore produced every-other pixel addressing, and did not support the input movement-direction data, leaving features such as geoPaint's scroll-arrows useless. These "new" drivers have solved those problems by using @relative addressing. When you place your finger on the pad, @no mouse movement occurs . By moving your finger to the right, the mouse cursor will "follow" your finger to the right; down moves the cursor down, etc. This keeps the pad from "locking up" when a menu is opened. The cursor simply follows your movement on the pad, and allows you to stop on @any pixel on the screen. I have also implemented movement data into these drivers, allowing you to use the pad to scroll in geoPaint and other applications. @New KOALA PAD is simply an update of BSW's driver using these new features. @KOALA SIDE is a similar driver, but it uses the pad "turned sideways" so that the buttons are on the right edge, instead of the top. (like its icon) This gives the pad more of a "track ball" feel, allowing more comfortable use of the pad with one hand; the thumb on the pad itself, and the fingers on the buttons. @New KOALA PAD p2 and @KOALA SIDE p2 are identical drivers to the above two, with the exception that they access the pad when plugged into game port 2, instead of game port 1-- normally used by GEOS drivers. This allows you to leave the pad plugged into port 2 while another device (mouse, joystick, etc.) is in port 1, and to activate either simply by selecting input (shortcut " @I ") from the deskTop. Some quirks: First, even with these drivers, there will be some jitter. You can reduce this greatly by using a stylus, or even your fingernail, on the pad. Second, due to the hardware of the pad, selecting multiple files from the deskTop by holding down the "Commodore" key will not work. Sorry! (However, you can select multiple files by using the deskTop shortcut keystrokes-- "1" through "8", "shift-1" through "shift-8", "W", "X", and "Y".)
